Model Answer / Ideal Response

A strong response should be calm, professional, and respectful while maintaining confidentiality.

Step 1 — Acknowledge the Patient’s Concern

Respond professionally and without judgement.

Example:

“I understand. Let me see how we can make you feel more comfortable and improve your privacy.”

This helps the patient feel listened to and respected.

Step 2 — Support Privacy and Comfort

Where appropriate:

  • Close doors or blinds
  • Reduce unnecessary interruptions
  • Respect modesty and personal comfort


Patients should feel safe and comfortable during care.

Step 3 — Respect Individual Needs

Patients may have:

  • Personal preferences
  • Cultural concerns
  • Anxiety or embarrassment
  • Privacy expectations
