Practise recognising and managing a cardiac arrest emergency in a dental setting, following NEBDN OSCE expectations.
Scenario
A 62-year-old patient suddenly collapses in the waiting area. They are unresponsive and not breathing normally. You are the dental nurse assisting the clinician.
Your Task
- Identify cardiac arrest
- Initiate immediate CPR
- Ensure help is called and emergency services contacted
- Use the AED as soon as it becomes available
- Continue resuscitation until help arrives
