The patient appears frustrated and begins raising their voice.
You are the dental nurse responding professionally and helping manage the situation.
Your Task
In this OSCE scenario, you are expected to respond professionally to a frustrated patient while helping manage concerns appropriately.

Model Answer / Ideal Response
A strong response should be calm, professional, and respectful while maintaining confidentiality.
Step 1 — Acknowledge the Patient’s Frustration
Respond respectfully and avoid blame.
Example:
“I understand this is frustrating. Let me see how we can help and explain the situation.”
This helps the patient feel heard and respected.
Step 2 — Remain Calm and Professional
Even if the patient raises their voice:
